This highly displayable U.S. World War II Army Technical Sergeant Ike jacket is an impressive uniform grouping retaining a strong arrangement of original insignia, ribbon bars, sleeve chevrons, collar devices, airborne-related insignia, and discharge-related identification. The jacket presents in classic olive drab wool construction with matching belt, U.S. collar disk, branch collar disk, shoulder straps, and Technical Sergeant rank chevrons to the sleeve. The left breast displays a silver U.S. Army parachutist wing above a multi-place ribbon bar, while the right breast bears the distinctive cloth Honorable Service Emblem, commonly known to collectors as the "Ruptured Duck" patch. The sleeve also retains a colorful unit shoulder patch, along with lower service bars and additional insignia, giving the jacket a visually rich and historically layered appearance.

The Ike jacket, officially introduced during the Second World War and popularized by General Dwight D. Eisenhower, became one of the most recognizable U.S. Army uniform garments of the late war and immediate postwar period. The parachutist wing indicates airborne qualification, a distinction earned through specialized jump training and closely associated with some of the most elite American combat formations of World War II. The ribbon bars speak to the service history of the original wearer, while the Ruptured Duck patch was worn by honorably discharged servicemen to indicate completed service and allow continued wear of the uniform during the transition back to civilian life. Together, these insignia elements tell the story of a decorated and qualified U.S. Army serviceman whose uniform reflects both wartime service and postwar discharge.

This jacket retains fantastic display quality and is especially appealing because of the amount of insignia still present. The moth nips and age-related textile wear visible throughout are consistent with long-term storage of wartime wool, but the jacket remains a powerful and highly collectible display piece. The combination of Technical Sergeant rank, parachutist wings, ribbon bars, collar disks, shoulder patch, service bars, chevrons, and Honorable Service patch gives this uniform tremendous character and research potential. We encourage bidders to carefully review all images of the insignia, ribbons, patches, and garment details prior to bidding. This is a strong acquisition for collectors of U.S. World War II uniforms, airborne material, named or researchable service jackets, and American military history.
