This striking English Victorian-era British sabertache is constructed of red leather and bears the royal cypher of Queen Victoria prominently displayed on the front flap. The sabertache is fitted with a rear flap incorporating a functional leather pocket, likely intended for the carriage of orders, maps, or field documents. Accompanied by its braided gold bullion cord, the piece presents as an example of a field-pattern sabertache rather than an embroidered full-dress type. Condition is fair to good overall, with the leather exhibiting scattered scratches, losses, and surface cracking consistent with age and use, while the bullion cord remains in good condition.
