This exceptional German World War II Army Heer Officer Dress Dagger was manufactured by the desirable Solingen maker Alcoso and remains one of the finest examples we have had come across our desk at Treasure Trove Auctions. The dagger retains its original scabbard and presents in near mint condition, with a very clean blade and a strong, sharply preserved Alcoso Solingen maker mark. The fittings remain highly attractive, with crisp oak leaf detailing to the pommel and scabbard bands, while the aged grip displays beautifully with excellent color and presentation. The scabbard is likewise outstanding, retaining strong finish and showing light wear beneath the langet area, suggesting the dagger has remained protected in storage for a considerable period of time. Overall, this is a fantastic and highly displayable example of a German WWII Heer officer dress dagger by a respected Solingen maker.

The German Army officer dagger was officially introduced in 1935 and quickly became one of the most recognizable dress sidearms of the Wehrmacht. Worn by officers for formal, parade, and walking-out occasions, the dagger was intended as a symbol of rank, service, and military tradition rather than as a combat weapon. Its design is among the most elegant of the Third Reich edged weapons, featuring the open-winged Army eagle and wreath motif on the crossguard, oak leaf decoration to the pommel, and a finely textured scabbard with oak leaf suspension bands. Alcoso, or Alexander Coppel Solingen, was one of the major blade and edged weapon manufacturers in the famed German "City of Blades," producing high-quality military daggers, swords, and related edged weapons during the period.

This dagger stands out because of its exceptional preservation, strong maker marking, clean blade, and outstanding scabbard presentation. Heer officer daggers are always popular among collectors, but examples by Alcoso Solingen in this level of condition are increasingly difficult to locate. The combination of near mint overall appearance, crisp fittings, well-preserved grip, bright blade, and original scabbard makes this a truly impressive piece for any advanced German WWII edged weapon collection. Please review all images closely to fully appreciate the quality and preservation of this beautiful dagger, and best of luck bidding on this exceptional offering from Treasure Trove Auctions.
