This early 10th-century Norman or possibly Byzantine broad arrowhead is an evocative iron weapon point from the medieval world. The arrowhead presents in a broad form associated with hunting, warfare, and armor-defeating or flesh-cutting projectile use, depending on its exact typology and context. Though additional measurements and excavation details were not provided, the piece carries the strong visual character of early medieval ironwork and battlefield material culture.

The 10th century was a period of intense military movement and cultural contact across Europe and the eastern Mediterranean. Norman warriors, Viking-descended settlers, Byzantine forces, and frontier armies all relied heavily on archery in warfare, hunting, and defense. Broad iron arrowheads of this type were practical, deadly, and widely used, representing the kind of battlefield object that rarely survives outside archaeological or old collection contexts.

This arrowhead is a compact but powerful artifact from the age of early medieval warfare. Its possible Norman or Byzantine attribution gives it strong crossover appeal for collectors of Viking Age, Crusader-period precursor, Byzantine, and medieval military artifacts. Only available at Treasure Trove Auctions.
